Generally, the application of semi-transparent nail polish will proceed as follows:
- Nail preparation: the nails are filed with a nail drill machine. The cuticles are pushed back and then nourished with cuticle oil.
- Base coat application: this is the first coat of polish that is then treated with a catalyst.
- Two coats of gel are applied, which will be composed of the colored polish.
- The finishing touch is the application of a topcoat, or finishing polish, which will make the polished nails shine and ensure their durability.
- After each coat of polish, the nails are cured under a UV lamp.
If you have weakened nails, avoid applying nail polish, as this could further damage them. If you feel your nails can withstand nail polish, ask your beautician first.
